WHY YOU’LL LOVE THIS HEALTHY PROTEIN ICE CREAM

Healthy ice cream recipe:

This recipe contains just around 107 calories while delivering an impressive 14 grams of protein.

Super easy to make:

A handful of common pantry staples are all you need to make this chocolate high-protein ice cream, but do not including the excruciatingly long wait time of 18-24 hours freezing time; patience is key.

With a Ninja Creami, making the protein ice cream takes no time at all! Its texture is also very good quality. It is just a bit softer than normal ice cream.

Regular ice cream tends to have artificial preservatives, xanthan gum, or even guar gum. This recipe does not have any of those.

As a healthy treat, this recipe works well when looking for options. So make sure to give it a try because I suggest it will help Ice Cream lovers now and in future!

INGREDIENTS

1. Fairlife milk: Fairlife is a great high protein milk with low carbs and fats which also doesn’t contain emulsifiers and gums which can upset your stomach temporarily. I’ve used both 2% and fat free version when making this recipe.

    2. Banana: As per my last experience with recipes, banana’s are always so tasty. It helps boost flavors immensely.

    3. Whey Protein: A lot of nutritionist say oh my whey protein powder but i prefer unflavored grass-fed ones because they mix easily without leaving grittiness as an aftertaste or mouth feel.

    4. Vanilla extract: you can use either liquid vanilla extract or even switch to using vanilla bean paste if you desire a deeper vanilla flavor.

    5. Stevia extract: NOW Organic Stevia Extract differs from the rest in terms of convenience and ease of use which I love.

    6. Unsweetened Cocoa powder: Regular or dark cocoa powder work, however make sure it’s not cacao powder as that would make it bitter instead of sweet like we want it to be.

    7. Stevia sweetened chocolate chips: For years now Lily’s has been my go-to brand and they do not disappoint! These are optional for the recipe and will not be counted towards macros but if included, 1 tablespoon embody 60kcals, 8g carbs, 4g fiber, 3g sugar alcohols, 4.5g fat and 1g protein.

    CHOCOLATE PROTEIN ICE CREAM MACROS

The numbers for one full portion of the pint are 311 kcals, 40.8g protein, 43g carbs, 12g sugar alcohols, 5.7g fiber, 25.3g net carbs, and fat at 6.2g. Also the number of servings is flexible based on your preferences.

CAN I USE CHOCOLATE PROTEIN POWDER OR VANILLA PROTEIN POWDER?

Using a flavored protein powder or vanilla is fine, but right now, my preference is a whey unflavored protein powder. You have better control over the flavor profile when making flavored protein ice cream.

If you are searching for different kinds of protein powders, sweetener substitutes, and flavors look at this keto protein ice cream recipe where I explore extensive options of sugar alternatives and many other replacements.

    HOW TO STORE

Make sure to keep it flat with the lid on so that air does not get in. High-protein chocolate ice cream should stay good for 3-6 months if stored properly in the freezer with no exposure to freezer burn.

There’s no need to top with plastic wrap because lids designed for pints from Ninja Creami work perfectly.

After portioning your desired amount, smooth out the top layer and make it flat if you plan on using the Ninja Creami Ice Cream Maker again later on so that it can spin freely when in the container.

The ice cream will need to go through a full freezing cycle before being put through the Ninja Creami for best results after all has been added into the container.
